Administration of Prescribed Medication in School
Where a child needs to take a prescribed medicine for a short term illness or a longer term condition, we require the medication to be sent into school in its original packaging, showing the prescription label. Medication should be handed to a staff member by a responsible adult, not passed via the child. Any remaining medication will be returned in the same way at the end of the school day. The attached form will need to be completed on the first day of treatment, or at the start of the school year in the case of Asthma inhalers, Epipens or emergency medication that are kept in school.
